








'The Price of Coal' - was completed to rapturous applause with its Scottish Premiere performance on 29th Sept. 2006.

The voices of 70 children from the Primary Schools of Drongan, Littlemill and St Patrick's, Auchinleck made up the Choirs depicting the miners, mine owners, and their respective families in this musical production portraying the history of Coal Mining in Britain.
The adult voices were provided by Jennifer Hope, Shirley Russell, Jack Hickford and Collin Burns.
The Killoch/Barony Branch NUM Banner was proudly paraded to end the performance by ex-miners, John McKelvie and John Clarke.
Narrator was George Kearton, Conductor - Valerie Tottey
From an original concept, and later adapted for the Ayrshire Coalfield, by George Kearton 'The Price of Coal' was originally commissioned by the Vivace Charitable Trust
